When I talk about meditation I am not necessarily saying that you have to take an hour out each day to sit and do nothing, though in an ideal world this would possibly be the best. Small meditations regularly are far more beneficial to your development than a long meditation once a week (in my opinion). Even taking a few moments out to allow the thoughts to float away and centre yourself will make a big difference. Allowing that quiet time is when you will find nuggets of wisdom drop in. So take time out when you can, gardening, walking in nature, 5 minutes of quiet when you finish your lunch or are doing the washing up – you will be surprised the different ways you can meditate.
Be clear when asking
The clearer you are when asking the clearer the answer can be. If you are driving and coming up to the on ramp for a motorway, ask that there be a safe space for you to drive into as you merge. Ask for there to be a car parking space just outside the entrance to the shopping centre. Be clear not fluffy. If you just ask for a car park space it could be the one furthest from where you want to be.
Try asking questions such as:
>> Show me the best way to overcome…
>> What do I need to know today from my guides that I may have smooth flow in my life.
>> Who is the spirit I am feeling around me today.
Ask for a sign that you can understand
Whilst you are growing your skill you can build a log of signs and symbols that you can easily understand. When your psychic team give you information it can often be in the form of memories, things that remind us of a particular event or emotion that is similar to what they are trying to pass on to you. During the day if you see and hear tangible things you can ask your guides to use that information to pass on to you. Could be something as simple as a cake… think of a kids birthday, an adult birthday or perhaps a wedding. Whichever you see in your minds’ eye is then the message for you about an upcoming birthday perhaps. You may hear happy birthday being sung or wedding bells – it can be very personalised.
Use Intuitive/automatic writing
Start by asking one of your questions and then just let the information flow out onto the paper. It doesn’t have to be perfect or particularly well written, in fact in may be very scruffy if as you will be trying to keep up with the thoughts as they flow. When you head back and read it later you may well find a few nuggets of wisdom in there and in fact not even remember writing it… these are the best types of messages as they are the ones from outside of yourself.
Make a sacred space
Try to find a spot in your home that you can make your own and use this space when meditating or doing any of your spiritual work. This does not have to be a complete room, it can just be a corner that is yours. Have a comfy chair, have a table for items such as crystals, sage, incense, ornaments, pictures ie things that make your heart sing. Traditionally you would set up this space by incorporating the elements such as water, air, earth and fire which also relate to east, west, south and north. Much as ritual has a place it is not necessary to blindly follow ALL the rules set out by others, after all this is your space not theirs.
